Briar Rose: A variegated mesh wreath tutorial

Over-sized flowers are very popular as door decor, and it's easy to see why!  Make yours special by using ombre mesh to create variegated petals.  We made a rose with the red mesh, but we also offer gold if you'd like to try making a sunflower.
Because the cost of the plastic wreath forms is so economical, this project is only about $20 to make.  When you buy enough supplies to make three flowers (see explanation below), the cost for each flower drops to $10.36!

We did the math, and one roll of mesh plus one pack of tinsel ties yields one flower, but TWO of each yields THREE flowers.  To do this, you will need to be strategic. Cut 24 petals from the first roll (enough petals for two flowers) and use the rest to make one flower center.  For the second roll, cut 12 petals (enough for one flower), and then make the final two flower centers.  Doing it this way ensures you have enough consecutive length of mesh to create each flower center.
