- 2.5" Metallic Purple Deco Mesh RibbonĀ - We used about 10 Yards
This beautiful wreath, which looks time consuming, only took us 25 minutes to complete. Although the time it takes to finish varies on skill level, the longest part of the process was the ribbon fluffing Ā - which is also the easiest!Ā The total cost of the wreath comes to just over $32, but when using the 25 yard deco mesh ribbon, there'll be enough extra to use towards another wreath.
When choosing your ribbon, the best choices would be ones of similar width (preferably 2.5ā, as when fluffed it's thick enough to cover the wreath frame), wired, and a ribbon made from a stiffer fabric. The softer ones, such as lamĆ©, tend to fold and lose their shape in this type of wreath.
We note in the video to use your hand as a measuring guide, so not every wreath will be the same size if your hand is bigger or smaller. Our loops were about 3.5" in size if you feel more comfortable using a ruler or a yardstick as a measuring device. The wreath would look great with anywhere from 3"-5" inch loops, but we don't recommend going any smaller than 3" or else it will be hard to cover your frame and pull the ribbons apart sufficiently. Bigger is better in this case.
To display the wreath, you can justĀ hang the wreath as-is or use the extra ribbon asĀ either a hanger or use it to create a bow. Don't be afraid to add any extra embellishments you would like! We have an array of Mardi Gras Accents available for your crafting needs.
