This gingham check ribbon gets its pattern from a weave of moss, ivory, and orange fibers. Because of this method, the ribbon looks identical on the front and back sides.

Wired edge ribbons (from Craft Outlet or otherwise) may not always be a single continuous piece. In cases where a spool has been spliced, the factory has been instructed to provide 6" or more of extra ribbon to make up for any associated waste.
