It looks like wood because it is wood!  The holly leaves are cut from from wood and given a birch bark faux veneer.  Their textured surfaces sparkle with clear glitter.  The 13-inch-long arms of holly leaves also contain clusters of red berries and birch bark coils/springs. The garland's spine is also dressed up.  The wired core is surrounded by molded foam that has notches, knots and mottling just like a real tree.
