With Christmas quickly closing in, Craft Outlet wanted to showcase a unique and crafty way to dress up your odd or oversized presents! With our choices of burlap sacks, you can find the perfect one to alter and place prominently beneath your tree.

You can easily customize your burlap sack with a Monogram Laurel Stencil, a change that only takes 20 minutes and will certainly be used again each year.

Supplies Needed

Supplies Needed:
For detailed instructions on how to cut out a custom stencil please refer to the Stenciled Burlap Table Runner post.

If cutting by hand,  it might be easier to print and cut the Monogram Letter and Laurel into two separate stencils. The font used in our example is Didot, but any serif style font is suitable.

If using a cutting system, follow the steps in the Stenciled Burlap Table Runner post to trace over the Laurel.png. Using their text tool, add your Monogram letter into the center of the laurel.

drawstring bag

Before starting, place a piece of paper into the flattened drawstring bag. This is to help avoid any paint from seeping through the porous burlap.

Monogram stencil

Using an iron, thoroughly adhere the freezer paper (shiny side down) to the burlap bag.

With any size spouncer, apply white craft paint to the stencil.

Wet stencil

Once fully painted, let dry and carefully peel the stencil from the burlap bag.
